Ryugyong Hotel - Half-Built and Abandoned, dwarfs Pyongyan's skyline

Standing at 105 floors, the partially constructed luxury hotel, located in North Korea's capital has been abandoned since 1992.

The building costs apparently ran to about 2% of N. Korea's GDP before the project was canceled. Reasons for the cancellation include substandard concrete, which apparently made the building structurally unsound... and a massive country-wide famine.
